Data Files for the Paper: "Strong-Motion Data from the Two PingTung, 
Taiwan, Earthquakes of December 26, 2006" by Chien-Fu Wu, William 
H. K. Lee, and David M. Boore.

These Data Files were prepared and documented by Chien-Fu Wu, William 
H. K. Lee, David M. Boore, and Chien-Hsin Chang for (1) online access, 
and (2) DVD distribution.

========== CONTENTS OF THE STRONG-MOTION DATA ARCHIVE =================

The PingTung Earthquake?s Strong-Motion Data Archive contains this 
ReadMe.txt file and following 4 sub-directories:  

(1) \Documents -- Information about the two PingTung earthquakes and 
     station coordinates of the free-field accelerographs.  A copy of 
     the Wu, Lee and Boore (2008) paper in its final manuscript form 
     as a Microsoft Word file is included.

(2) \Part_A_Selected_Data_Set -- Selected strong-motion data files used 
     in the Wu, Lee and Boore (2008) paper.  

(3) \Part_B_Recorded_Data_Set -- Recorded free-field strong-motion data 
     files, including rejected strong-motion records.                                

(4) \Software -- Software from 3 major manufacturers that read their 
     recorded data files, and a note about the Boore (2008) software 
     that was used for data analysis in the Wu, Lee and Boore 2008) 
     paper.


The \Part_A_Selected_Data_Set directory contains the ReadMe_Selected.txt 
file and two sub-directories:

    1) \First_PingTung_EQ -- Data and information Files for the FIRST 
                             PingTung Earthquake.

    2) \Second_PingTung_EQ -- Data and information Files for the SECOND 
                              PingTung Earthquake.


The \Part_B_Recorded_Data_Set directory contains the ReadMe_Recorded.txt 
file, two index files, and two Sub-directories:

    1) \RAWdata -- Original strong-motion records grouped by the 
                   accelerograph type.
   
    2) \TXTdata -- "TXT" data files in the CWB ASCII format.  They were
                   converted from the "RAW" data files, with corrected 
                   Header information and some processing.
